Help stop planned changes to the Small Brewers Relief Scheme

Thursday 1 October 2020

Local brewers in South Oxfordshire could be under threat - so help us save your pint!

You might have heard that the Government is set to increase the amount of tax paid by some small independent breweries in the UK. This means that local breweries, including local favourites such as Loddon, could struggle even more following the COVID-19 crisis.

A petition to reverse the planned changes to the Small Brewers Relief Scheme has been started by brewers Anspach and Hobday, asking the Government to think again about their plans. We’re asking all CAMRA members in South Oxfordshire to join us in signing the petition and sharing it with friends and family – if 100,000 people sign it, it will be considered for debate in Parliament.

At the moment the petition has over 42,000 signatories, but only 73 of those are from South Oxfordshire. We want to make sure that there are no avoidable losses in the numbers of breweries in the UK, so that pub goers get more choice at the bar. So, please read and sign Small Brewers Relief Scheme petition.
