John Robinson, who lived in Wargrave, passed away in the Duchess of Kent Hospice, Reading, on Monday 16th November 2020.

John (or JR as he was well known), although a member of the Reading & Mid-Berks Branch of CAMRA, was our Woodcote Festival of Ales Organiser for approximately 10 years with his last year organising being 2008. Without his contribution the South Oxfordshire Branch would not have been able to continue with the Woodcote Festival of Ales during that period and it is possible that it would not be the successful Festival that it is now. JR was ably assisted by other Reading & Mid-Berks members such as Laurence Hansford, Russ Wood & Dave Butler.

For many years JR also used to organise curry meals in Southall for CAMRA members in the Thames Valley; starting off in the Beaconsfield Arms for a few decent pints of real ale before going onto the meal (the Beaconsfield Arms is no more, having been demolished in 2007).
