Originally a 16th century coaching inn, with a pleasant low ceilinged lounge bar at the front with a large open inglenook fireplace, and a separate dining room to the rear. There is also an enclosed garden at the back of the pub.

Reopened on Thursday 5 December 2024 with new licensees (who also operate the nearby New Inn) after the previous tenants left in April 2024. The pub has had a thorough redecoration throughout to provide a comfortable and welcoming interior.
