The Black Horse has been in existence for over 350 years and run by same family for over 110. This unspoilt gem is hidden away up a lane that at first glance appears to lead nowhere. Well worth seeking out, it is popular with walkers and cyclists. Not a food pub, although there is usually a baguette to be had at lunchtimes. The al-fresco gents' toilet is worth a visit too ! During the winter months opening times may vary and calling ahead is advisable at quiet times. Dogs may be brought to the pub, but will need to stay outside because there is the owner's dog inside. This is a cash only pub.
