Reopened May 2026 under new ownership, having closed in March 2020. Whilst the pub itself is not yet open, the Thatch Barn is open, serving brunch, lunch and drinks. Further updates to follow.

Grade II-listed, 17th-century brick and flint coaching inn with origins that may well date back to the 11th century. The adjacent 400-year-old barn is used for functions and is licenced for civil ceremonies. A pleasant and cosy interior and a focus on quality food. Popular with walkers and cyclists.

The Crown closed in March 2020 and was subsequently purchased by Pablo Diablo's Legitimate Business Firm Limited whose sole director is Russell Brand in late 2021, but never reopened as a pub and was sold to the new owners in April 2026.
