Leathern Bottle1 High Street
See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.
A traditional old country pub spread over three rooms separated by a large open fire and bar area. Consistently good ale and an excellent home-cooked pub menu, using locally-sourced produce, make this an ideal stop-off from the nearby M40 motorway. Run by two generations of the same family for 40 years, it has appeared in all but one edition of CAMRA's Good Beer Guide. The guest ale is from the Brakspear pubco approved list, i.e. from the monthly specials from the Marston's group or from Bell Street (the Brakspear pubco's own microbrewery). The pub offers a warm welcome to all, including walkers from the nearby Ridgeway, with some of the best trails starting and finishing here. It is also a short walk from the Oxford Tube and airline coach stop. The large family-friendly garden includes a children's play area.
