Closed on 15 September 2024 on the retirement of the existing licensee who had been at the Rainbow for 30 years. The pub was sold by the Brakspear pub co to Spink Partner Co Limited (a property company) early in 2025. There was a Transfer of the Premises Licence Holder in Apr 2025 and a Vary to the DPS (Designated Premises Supervisor) in July 2025, but as at 4 November 2025 there is no appearance of it reopening.

This compact and unspoilt traditional 17th century country pub nestles in the Stonor Valley. The cosy public bar can be packed after local field events while the lounge serves good home cooked food, with additionally a pizza night on Thursday - Saturday evenings, which can also be ordered for collection to enjoy at home.
