Building work started to convert the pub into a veterinary surgery in January or February 2024.

The pub closed on 10 December 2019.

The Brakspear pub co were looking for new tenants up to June 2021.

The Brakspear pub co have put in planning application P21/S2332/FUL to convert the pub to a veterinary surgery with a new house to the left of the pub and another its right. Original application on 19 May 2021, revised on 27 September 2021.

Planning Permission was granted on 4 February 2022.

Former description was: A traditional ale-drinkers' local pub with bar and dining room. Many events including live music, occasional beer festivals, and the famous "Tractor Runs", in which vintage tractors do a tour of local pubs with passengers travelling in open trailers. Enclosed garden with children's play area. Note (December 2019): the conservatory has been demolished and the "Tractor Runs" are being run by the New Inn, Kidmore End.

It served Brakspear Gravity and a guest from the Brakspear Pub Co approved list. Had a real fire, was a quiet pub, had a garden, served lunchtime meals except for Mondays and evening meals except for Mondays and Sundays, traditional games were available, a smoking area, car park and dogs on leads were welcome.
