There has been a Wheatsheaf on this site since the 17th century - the present pub was built in 1909. This tie-free town hostelry has recently gained a well-deserved reputation for the quality and variety of its beers, with up to six ales on offer at any time. The main bar features darts and a pool table, with a quieter room off to the side. There is a large garden and children's play area, and Aunt Sally is played in the summer. Live music features every Saturday with open-mic on Wednesdays.
