Pub news:

  • The Save the White Lion action group in Crays Pond is still active and is looking to have a big push next year to try for a buy-out. There is a Christmas sing-song with food and pop-up pub on the 22nd December. See the Save the White Lion blog post for more details.
  • The Golden Ball in Lower Assendon is due to reopen on Friday 25th November, likely with more of a restaurant feel than pub.
  • The Bear, North Moreton will be reopening on 1st December, initially on a six-month lease by the same team who operates the Five Little Pigs in Wallingford; Rob McGregor, Sam Smith and Aimee Hunt.
  • A change of use application has been submitted to SODC for the Horse & Harrow, West Hagbourne, to be converted to housing.
  • The Ladygrove in Didcot is currently closed for extensive refurbishment.
  • In Henley, the Little Angel and the Six Bells have both reopened with new tenants.
  • Landlady Dora is now staying at the New Inn, Kidmore End until April.

Brewery news:

  • Our Pubs Officer, Bob Smith, attended SOX Brewery's open event in October. No brewing equipment was evident yet.
  • Phantom Brewing Co in Reading is planning a ‘tap room’ in Henley.
