Branch Pub and Brewery News (May 2019)

Tuesday 21 May 2019

Pub news:

  • The Crown in South Moreton, held a shareholders’ party on Good Friday and is now properly open as a community venture.
  • The Crown Inn at Benson in Benson, is up for sale. The ACV is about to expire and needs to be renewed quickly. David Cooper (Branch Chairman) is currently drafting it.
  • The ACV application for the Reformation, Gallowstree Common, has failed. Apparently it wasn’t strong enough on the community use aspect of the application. Unfortunately the Parish Council member who completed the application is no longer in a position to work on it, so unless someone else picks it up, the ACV application will not be taken further.
  • The Station House, Henley, has a new tenant who has renamed it after himself: it’s now Hof's Bar & Dining.

Brewery news:

  • Philsters’ new five-barrel plant is up and running but is actually sited just outside the SOX boundary.
  • Bell St is currently brewing Brakspear Old.
