Pub News
The Coachmakers Arms, Wallingford reopened on the 4th June. No opening hours published to date, but pub data will be updated as soon as they are. Photo credit: The Coachmakers Arms.
The Red Lion, Cholsey has closed for a very short period (~1 week) for a kitchen refurbishment. The rear garden is to be redone following this. The front beer garden refurbishment is complete and looks good by all accounts.
The Ladygrove, Didcot is extending its Monday offer on discounted cask ale to Monday-Thursday. Pints will cost £2.80 on these days (offer not applicable during England World Cup matches).
The Bird in Hand, Sonning Common, is being gutted and refurbished; slow progress – at least 2 months before likely completion. No suggestion that it will change from a pub fortunately
Lessee of the Red Lion, Brightwell-cum-Sotwell, Corinne Prior, has placed the lease up for sale. She and her partner, Mouse, are looking for a calmer period of their lives as they have been going non-stop since they took over the classic village pub just weeks before Covid lockdown. Speaking to Corinne, she is in no rush to move out and would much rather take her time to find someone who will continue to run the pub in her mould, sympathetic to the village’s needs in its only surviving pub.
The Beetle & Wedge Boathouse, Moulsford is selling Wainwright as brewery conditioned beer. This has been logged on the pub database and there is now a clear indication of this fact on the pub database page for the pub.
