Pub news:

- Brakspear is installing a management company to ensure the Butcher's Arms in Sonning Common remains open. A permanent tenant is still actively being sought.
- Two separate couples are interested in taking over the New Inn, Kidmore End.
- The decision on the planning application for change of use of the Horse & Harrow, West Hagbourne has been pushed back to the 23 February. SODC/Vale has received over 20 objections to the potential loss of public amenity.
- The planning application for change of use to ‘other commercial’ for the Village Inn, Berinsfield has been amended to turn the pub into 7 flats.
- The planned change to the accommodation at the Royal Standard in Wallingford is apparently going to be additional accommodation for the Coachmakers Arms, opposite.
- The now de-licensed Lamb at Satwell has a planning application to change to a single dwelling. The application has received two objections.
- The new tenants of the Six Bells, Warborough, as well as the parish council are keen to submit an ACV application for the pub.
- David has recently met with new tenant at the Crown Inn at Benson, James Rodgers, who has run several Hook Norton pubs previously, some of which have featured in the GBG. He is not expecting to stay for more than a few months and so finding a high quality manager for the pub long term still seems to be the objective for Hook Norton.
- The John Barleycorn, Goring remains closed.
- The current tenants of the Perch & Pike, South Stoke have handed in their notice to Brakspear. They are expected to remain for, at most, six months while a new manager is found.
- Mark Duggan, manager of the Chequers, Berrick Salome left on 12 February. The tenancy is under offer.
